Bonilla is charged with one count each of murder (felony murder), attempted murder, assault with a firearm and second-degree robbery.

Co-defendants Evin Adonis Ortiz, 22, of Valley Glen, and Rene Ramirez, 29, of Mission Hills, were charged with the same crimes on January 17^th.

The death penalty is being contemplated.

The charges arose from the evening of January 9^th when Morales walked in on his 68 year old grandfather being robbed in the driveway of his home.

As the grandfather screamed for help when the robbers fled with his wallet and jewelry, Morales chased after the three as they jumped into a white, mid-sized sport utility vehicle.

One of them then shot Morales in the head killing him.
